A privileged terroir

The Territory

Aminta encompasses 6 hectares of vineyards in the south-eastern reaches of the Brunello di Montalcino appellation, nestled between Castelnuovo dell'Abate and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo. The estate and winery lie just one kilometre north of these iconic sites, at the heart of one of the denomination's most distinguished and sought-after terroirs. A mosaic of elevations, exposures and soil profiles defines the estate, allowing each vineyard parcel to express a unique facet of this remarkable landscape.

The estate comprises three distinct vineyards sites:
Pian Bossolino – upper and lower
Cantina – two adjacent vineyards
Caselle – two parcels, one currently under replanting

Pian Bossolino Vineyard

A few kilometers north of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, towards Montalcino, at elevations between 395 and 415 meters above sea level, with southern exposure, lie the two Pian Bossolino vineyards: Pian Bossolino Alto (1.3 hectares), situated between 415 and 408 meters, and Pian Bossolino Basso (1.9 hectares), between 408 and 395 meters. The soils are very stony (30–35% skeletal content), with a clay-loam texture and excellent drainage. The vines, approximately 15 years old, are trained using the spur cordon system.

Area Overview and Soil Geology

To gain a comprehensive understanding of vineyard geology and to assess the viticultural and winemaking performance of each parcel, the Cecchi Family has undertaken an in-depth soil study in collaboration with Simone Priori, pedologist and professor at the University of Tuscia - Department of Agricultural and Forest Sciences.
